Play scripts

This week in English, year 4 have worked super hard to create exciting play scripts about the Iron Man. Today they had the chance to act out their plays and check that their stage directions were effective!

Year 4 had a BLAST!

We finally found time in our super busy timetable to erupt some of the fantastic volcanos that children created for their home work. We mixed malt vinegar and bicarbonate of soda together to create a chemical reaction that looked like our volcanos were erupting! 

We also learnt that volcanos are natural features and form over time!

In our English lesson today, year 4 learnt a section of the Iron Man using a text map and actions!

New reading books!

Our fantastic new reading books have arrived, how exciting! 

Christmas homework!

We had lots of fantastic and imaginative homework come in after Christmas. Well done to everyone who handed something in. We had powerpoints, videos and movies as well as lots of explosive volcanos. We are very much looking forward to watching them explode! Keep an eye out on our blog for the final videos! Here are just some of the examples! 

Chocolatly maths!

Year 4 had a great time solving problems and explaining their reasoning during our chocolate challenge. The children worked in groups to work out fractions of chocolate bars and were very excited when they got to share it out and eat a little! 

Reading time!

Today year 4 and 5 had the chance to read some of their favourite stories and poems to their playground buddies in year 1!
