Zoo Trip

On Thursday, Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Chester Zoo. They have been learning all about living things and their habitats in Science with Miss Roberts so the zoo was the perfect place to visit to help them with their learning.

They took part in a workshop to learn more about the rain forest and how that habitat is under threat. Everyone had a brilliant day!

Yesterday, Year 4 took part in the Junior Chef's Academy workshop. We had to wear our own aprons and chef' hats to get us into the role of being junior chefs. We learned a lot about the importance of eating healthy and what foods we could eat to make sure we are. We made a delicious savoury rice dish full of healthy and tasty ingredients to take home.

Hopefully it has inspired you to try out this recipe at home with the handy recipe card.

Lantern making

On Friday, Year 4 had a very creative day! Mr Kirk came into our class to teach us how to make lanterns. We worked in pairs to create a lantern each and had to listen carefully and use great team work skills. Along the way we used our maths knowledge to help us construct our lanterns.

Next week Year 4 will be able to take the lanterns home and take part in Ellesmere Port's lantern parade with them. We are hoping that a lot of our children will attend with their beautiful lantern they worked so hard to make.
